Ya girl coaches and consults! Contact her for rates if you want eyes on your pilot, packet, or play. Alice served as a consultant for three new Chicago stage works in 2018. She has also directed the sketch duo Shitty Bitches in four of their runs, including their performance at the 2017 Chicago Funny Women’s Festival where they won “Best Sketch” and their holiday show Shitty Bitchmas, which was nominated as best scripted show of the year at the 2018 iO Del Awards. She is the former coach of the indie improv teams Water Bear and Fake Nudes and has been a script doctor for too many things to count.

Alice has also more traditionally taught writing and theatre to all ages. At Chicago City Colleges, she taught English 101, Improv Workshop, Diversity in U.S. Theatre, and Theatre History. Previously, she instructed Improv, Playwriting, Screenwriting, and Film Ethics at Arizona State University.

As a Teaching Artist, Alice taught Improv and Musical Theatre for Mudlark Theatre‘s after-school and summer camp programs. She is the former Education Director and Teaching Artist for Silk Road Rising‘s CPS outreach program EPIC. She also volunteered as a Field Trip Instructor and Editor for 826 Chicago. She was recently featured in TYA Today.

Beyond typical classroom experience, Alice has tutored writing for New Mexico State Penitentiary, coached two nationally-ranked high school Speech & Debate programs, taught improv to seniors, and led poetry workshops for young women at a battered women’s shelter. She has taught several improv workshops including aboard The Norwegian Dawn for The Second City, as a presenter for College of Dupage’s Writing on the Edge Conference, and to many corporate and community groups. While in Chicago, she was an active part of Chicago’s Ingenuity education conferences, bringing arts to underserved students. Specifically, she created and led a program for high school girl groups to bond through comedy.

She was a finalist for ASU’s Special Teaching Award in 2013 and the Chicago City College’s Teacher of the Month in 2016.
